Job Description

Deck crew leader

The bosun is the head of the deck crew and performs various tasks with the crew. They are responsible for supervising the crew, ensuring work is of good quality and done on time, and bringing concerns to the chief officer.

Deck maintenance

The bosun is responsible for the daily maintenance and inspection of the ship's deck. This includes cleaning, painting, and handling equipment. They also maintain and repair deck equipment, such as hatches, anchor chains, mooring lines, and deck fittings.

Safety

The bosun is responsible for the safety of the deck crew and the vessel. This includes maintaining a watch while at sea, conducting drills and safety procedures, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the ship.

Communication

The bosun needs good communication skills to relay instructions to the deck crew and act as a go-between between deck ratings and officers.

Vessel maintenance

The bosun is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the vessel. This includes maintaining and repairing the ship's hull, rigging, and deck equipment.


 

Mooring lines

The bosun plays a crucial role in the efficient operations of the vessel. This includes laying out mooring lines before reaching port and anchoring the vessel.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

AT LEAST 18 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE AS BOSUN

WITH OR WITHOUT US VISA

HOLDING VALID DOCUMENTS 

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!

MUST BE WILLING TO JOIN THIS VESSEL THAT HAS A HIGH-RISKED AREA TRADE
